Early Morning Bicycle Session, 21st October

An early morning session starting at 06:30 UTC until 08:20 UTC on 40m from the tricycle.

The weather was calm and chilly so able to deploy the 33ft vertical aerial on the back of the bike.

Long path propagation was slow to open on 40m for the UK with the first DX QSO after 07:00 UTC, however I had a quick chat with group member Duncan, EA5ON/M when I first arrived on the promenade.

However once the band had opened signals were excellent from the Pacific area were excellent with brilliant signals from group members Roy Brown, VK7ROY peaking 59+ and also Jonathan Clayman, VK7JON.

A great surprise was a call from my good friend Brian, ZL3XDJ who was 5/9+ on the bike!
