Pedestrian Mobile Trolley

1 min read

For easy use when on holiday in the UK in our touring caravan I enjoy using my pull along HF pedestrian mobile trolley that can be easily pulled along over most surfaces and is easily transported in the boot of the car, the trolley can be set up for use in a matter of seconds.

The trolley was originally made from a two wheel shopping trolley with several structural modifications.

The radio is yet another Alinco DX-70TH set to 50W and is powered by a 20Ah lithium polymer battery.

The audio output of the radio is fed into a West mountain CLR DSP speaker that transforms the radio into an exceptional receiver.

The Antenna is a 5M long adjustable length telescopic stainless steel vertical mounted on a mount fixed to the two wheel trolley.

The antenna is impedance tuned by an MFJ ATU and a ground coupling is achieved by a home made toroidal ground tuning unit (see GTU section) which means the set up does not use any ground radials and so can be used on the move.
